Terms and Conditions

How the job works, what you pay, and where we each stand. In plain English.

You get a price before anything happens, you pay once the job is done, and the vehicle is carried under proper insurance. Nothing below takes away any right you have under consumer law, and where the law says a right cannot be signed away, it cannot be signed away here either.

Who we are

Church Street Recovery MK, Ellisgill Ct, Heelands, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire MK13 7LP. Telephone 07734 354239. “We” and “us” mean Church Street Recovery MK. “You” means the person asking for the work.

What these terms cover

They apply to any recovery, towing, transport, jump start, winching or vehicle collection we carry out for you, whether you booked it by phone, by message or through the form on this site.

Quotes and prices

The figure you are given on the phone is based on what you tell us: where the vehicle is, where it is going, what it is, and whether it starts and rolls. If what we find when we arrive is materially different from that, the price may change, and we will tell you before carrying on rather than afterwards.

Things that commonly change a quote are access that turns out to be much harder than described, a vehicle that will not roll when we were told it would, and a destination that moves.

Getting to you

Any arrival time we give is an honest estimate, not a guarantee. Traffic, weather and the job already in progress all affect it. If we are going to be later than we said, we will tell you.

For a planned transport job we agree a date with you. We are a small operation rather than a national network, so if something goes wrong on the day you will hear it from the person driving.

Payment

Payment is due when the job is finished, unless we have agreed something else with you in advance. We will tell you which payment methods we can take when you book.

For a scrap or end-of-life vehicle, note that in England and Wales payment to you cannot lawfully be made in cash. It has to be by bank transfer or cheque.

Changing your mind

If you book a job that is not urgent without meeting us in person, you normally have fourteen days to cancel under consumer law.

If you ask us to come out straight away, which is what happens in a breakdown, the work starts inside that period at your request. You can still cancel, but you may be charged for what has already been done, including a journey already made. If you cancel before we set off, there is nothing to pay.

Access

We need to be able to get a recovery vehicle to yours, and we need somewhere lawful to load it. If that means using private land, a car park or a shared driveway, it is up to you to make sure whoever controls that land is content for us to be there.

If a vehicle genuinely cannot be reached safely, we will say so rather than attempt it and risk damage.

Your right to move the vehicle

By asking us to move a vehicle you confirm you are entitled to have it moved, either because it is yours or because you have the owner’s permission. We may ask who you are and what your connection to the vehicle is, particularly where it has been left somewhere or has no paperwork with it.

Things left in the vehicle

Take out anything you would not post. Our cover is for the vehicle, not for what is inside it, and loose items move around on a transporter. Please also tell us about anything fitted that needs care, and disable a sensitive alarm or tell us how to.

Insurance and liability

Your vehicle is carried under our recovery and motor trade insurance. If your own insurer wants the specifics, ask when you book and we will give them to you.

We are responsible for loss or damage we cause. We are not responsible for a fault or damage the vehicle already had, for something that was always going to happen once it was moved, or for losses that have nothing to do with our work.

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

It is worth photographing the vehicle from all four corners before collection. It takes two minutes and removes any argument about an existing mark.

Storage

If a vehicle needs to stay with us rather than go straight to its destination, we will agree that with you first, along with what it costs. We will not run up a storage bill you have not been told about.

If something goes wrong

Ring 07734 354239 and say what has happened. You will be speaking to the person who did the job, which is usually the quickest way to sort it out. If we cannot put it right between us, you keep every right you have under consumer law, including going to court.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
